📌 February 9, 1971 – Satchel Paige Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame
Satchel Paige, one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, spent most of his career in the Negro Leagues before joining the Cleveland Indians in 1948. At over 40 years old, he became the oldest player to debut in Major League Baseball. In 1971, Paige was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, becoming the first player honored by the Committee on Negro Baseball Leagues.

📌 February 12, 1909 – The NAACP is Founded
On Abraham Lincoln’s 100th birthday, a group of civil rights leaders, including W.E.B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells, and Mary White Ovington, formed the NAACP. Their goal was clear—to fight racial injustice, challenge segregation, and advocate for civil rights. Over a century later, the NAACP remains one of the most influential civil rights organizations in America.

📌 June 10, 1964 – The Civil Rights Act Filibuster Ends
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 faced a massive roadblock in the U.S. Senate. Southern senators launched a filibuster that lasted 60 working days, one of the longest in history. Finally, on June 10, the Senate voted 71-29 to end the debate, clearing the way for the bill’s passage. The law, signed later that year, banned segregation and racial discrimination in schools, workplaces, and public spaces.

These events weren’t just headlines—they changed the course of history.
